VISTAS

This five foot square, abstract canvas was commissioned by clients who have restored a beautiful Yorkshire Stone house to its former glory, attaching and converting a long house in which my painting now hangs. I visited the house and explored the gardens and grounds, which include small lakes and bluebell woods with stunning views and countryside all around.
My inspiration for the painting is based on all of this and on the family and their brief; an abstract painting that connects with the landscape and fuels the imagination. I worked mainly in my garden with the painting laid flat on the grass in between showers and when the sun shone the bees enjoyed basking in the warmth on it. I loved working on this commission and it looks stunning hanging above the fireplace in this perfect double height space.
